1 July 2023 Arusha to Moshi

Today was our transfer from Arusha to Moshi day... which really isn't that far, but it packs a lot of craziness.  You'll note the wedding procession below.  When we arrived in Moshi, the usual "basecamp" hotel was full, so we were placed in a different hotel, where someone from our climbing outfitter came to the room and looked through all of our belongings.  This is the point where I had to fill out a form to rent all the stuff that didn't make the overseas trip in my luggage (yay...).  Overall, it was fairly relaxing, just getting ready for the big climb!  The next morning, we got up bright and early to start our climb of Kilimanjaro!

JT's pretty used to how many pictures I take, but I still get the "what?" look from time to time.

How do you carry your chickens?

Never seen a wedding processional quite like this one!

Last coffee and snack in the fancy hotel in Arusha!

Small fortune on lunch...

Guess they were out of fancy toothpicks.

Our outfitter featured my posts today!

30 June 2023 - Serengeti to Arusha

Today was a very long driving day.  We made some quick stops for photos, but we had a lot of ground to cover... People who spend more than us normally take a bush plane back to Arusha in 30 minutes.  I actually am very glad we took the land route, because it was a nice overview of everything we had spent the week looking at.  We also got a really amazing opportunity to see a Cheetah eating a dik-dik up close!  Nothing like a Cheetah having breakfast and looking right at you while licking his lips... Enjoy the photos below!
